MINUTES – ST. STEPHEN OCA PARISH ANNUAL MEETING, 1/24/2010

Present: Fr. David Maroney & Judy Goshorn, Janna & Luke Beecham, Bill & Dianne Combs,
Ann Hatfield, Jewell Jeffries, Chris & Julie McCulloh, Elisha & Rodney McCulloh, Caleb &
Natalie Wilson, Mike & Tina Wilson, Nicole & Sam Wilson, Debra & Doug Wolf

A. Opening of Meeting – Rodney agrees to facilitate meeting at Fr. David’s request. Elisha
agreed to take minutes.

B. Prayer – Fr. David

C. Determination of a quorum – 21 of 26 adult members are present.

D. Approval of minutes from previous meeting – Dianne makes a motion to dispense with
the reading and approval of the minutes from the previous annual meeting from now on
(due to the fact that this is already accomplished by the priest and Parish Council early
in the year); Mike seconds; motion carries.

E. Committee reports

1. Committee purpose and goals – Rodney will continue working on this project.

2. Benevolence – Ann agrees to turn in a report at a later date.

3. Book Corner – Rodney submits a report (see attached).

4. Building & Grounds Trustee – Doug submits a report (see attached)

5. Diocesan Assembly Rep. – Jewell has no report.

6. Finance – Rodney’s report is covered by items F, G & H below

7. Garden – Dianne submits a report (see attached).

8. Greeters – Judy submits a report (see attached).

9. Hospitality/Sympathy – Judy submits a report (see attached).

10. Library – Judy reports no activity in the past year.

11. Liturgical – no report submitted.

12. Refreshment – Ann continues to manage this committee. No report submitted.

13. Sunday School – Judy reports that there is no Sunday school activity until
further notice.

14. Web Site – Rodney reports that Luke has agreed to work on this and that
funding has been cut.

15. Youth Group – Luke reports that the youth have started meeting on a regular
basis, that it is going well, that the goal is to build a sense of community, that
he will be adding a basic catechism, that some of the youth are interested in
going to Project Mexico with Ss. Constantine & Elena parish, and that Caleb,
Natlie, Nicole & Sam Wilson are helping with the meetings.

16. Youth Workers Screening – Elisha & Luke report that there have been no
additional workers screened over the past year.

F. Financial Statement – Bill submits a report (see attached) and reports that a recent
renegotiation of the mortgage has saved the parish $400 per month.

G. Auditor’s Report – Caleb submits a report (see attached).

H. Adoption of parish Budget – Rodney presents a proposed budget (see attached). Mike
makes a motion to accept the budget; Ann seconds; motion carries.

I. Elections:

1. Parish Council

The following people are put forward to fill the Parish Council positions as
follows:

President: Rodney McCulloh, Vice President: Dianne Combs, Secretary:
Billy Belt, Treasurer: Caleb Wilson, Members: Janna Beecham and Jewell
Jeffries

Bill makes a motion to accept this proposed slate by acclamation; Doug
seconds; motion carries.

2. Auditing Committee – Dianne makes a motion to appoint Jewell to this position;
Ann seconds; motion carries.

3. Representative(s) to the Diocesan Assembly – Doug makes a motion to appoint
Dianne to this position; Luke seconds; motion carries.

J. Unfinished Business – by-law changes remain unapproved due to the Archbishop’s
passing.

K. New Business – none

L. Adjournment – Bill makes a motion to adjourn; Doug seconds; motion carries.

Rector Parish Council President
